An expert seminar on “Study on the Synergistic Impact of Kunming’s Traffic Carbon Peak and Air Pollutant Emission Reduction” was successfully held in Kunming recently. This seminar uses a combination of online and offline methods, from Kunming Development and Reform Commission, Kunming Ecological Environment Bureau, Kunming Transportation Bureau, as well as energy foundation, national climate change strategy research and international cooperation Experts from the Center, Kunming Urban Transport Research Institute, Kunming Environmental Science Research Institute, and Yuheng Sustainable Transport Research Center attended the meeting.
This research was supported by the Institute of Sustainable Development Cooperation (ISC) and implemented by the Shenzhen Transportation Research Center. At the meeting, the expert group listened to the report of the results of the research team, and believed that the study objectively and detailedly analyzed the characteristics of carbon emissions and air pollutants in the transportation sector in Kunming through solid data, and discussed the carbon emissions in the transportation sector under different emission reduction scenarios. Peak conditions and the synergistic effect of carbon peaking and air pollutant reduction. Regarding the four major strategies and the eighteenth major projects proposed by the research, experts believe that the carbon economy analysis of the measures is relatively new, which has good reference value for related research in Yunnan and Kunming, and can be used for the future transportation planning of Kunming and the transportation development of Yunnan Province. And provide basic support for the 14th Five-Year Plan in the field of air pollution control.
